Carry-ons and Liquids

If you’re a frequent flyer, the following may be very obvious. However, if this is your first international flight since the pandemic, a refresher may be in order!

If you don’t have any layovers, I think you’re safe. If you do… here are some tips:

  1. Double check the requirements of the airline and airport for each leg of your trip. This information might not be available if you’re booking through a third party portal like United.

  2. Put valuables and clothes you’ll wear for the wedding in your carry-on! Italian airports are unfortunately notorious for losing luggage.

  3. Try your best to sleep on the plane! Regardless of where you live in the United States, you will definitely be jetlagged. This is especially important if you plan on picking up your car rental right after your flight!

This is me after Heathrow threw out my travel sized toothpaste and Lufthansa checked my overweight bag at the gate anyway … learn from my mistake!
